Dear Santa,

For Christmas, I want a chihuahua puppy.  For all you naysayers, I know, a chihuahua is not an actual dog, it is somewhere between rodent and dog, but I am on board with that, I want a portable critter.  No, not accessory dog, but small enough to be content in an RV at times.  spacellama, yes, after all these years, I have come over to the small side.  I give you full permission to tease and taunt me.

So, as I was walking out of the Larimer County Correctional Facility, in my flame pants, mesh shirt, flamey sequin fur bra, and red leopard fur floor-length coat after a night of trying to sleep sitting up in a chair, I encountered a chick who was waiting for her boyfriend to be released. She had a 5-month old chihuahua who looked like a tiny Visla but with pointy ears.:

Also, kinda like this:

Her name was Lala. I want one.
I got the information for the breeder, and I have been tempted to call, but I know now is not the right time to get a puppy.  Pout.  I will be couch-surfing some, and dog makes it much more complicated.  Also, current roomies are not so keen on critters.  Alas, I will hafta wait a while, but it's just more motivation to get my shit worked out, I suppose.

I went to the Austin Chihuahua Meetup last month. It wasn't as nutty as I'd hoped it would be, but there were a lot of yippers there.

Bwahaha. (But Rasha-Roo was small...)

But seriously. After buying and raising three chihuahua critters, I do have advice for when the time comes: 1. Get a girl. 2. Get her fixed as early as is safe. 3. Try to get a pup who has no champions in her lineage, so as to minimize Grumpy Inbred Dog Syndrome (you knew Baby, so you know of what I speak). I think Xena is my best dog purchase yet, and we picked her because we sat down on the floor and she went from lap to lap, snuggling in and getting petted at each stop. I thought: This is a lap dog! And she is.

Your in-the-pokey outfit sounds delicious.
